What were you doing when you were four years old? Most of us were playing with blocks, learning to use simple words, and (hopefully) not making too big of a mess of the house.
Four-year-old Grace from the Brydges Centre Family has spent the last year memorizing and reciting poetry!
Like all the children in the Brydges Centre Family, Grace came to the Centre from very difficult circumstances. And, like all of the members of the family, Rosemary and those who cared for her watched intently to see who this beautiful little girl was made to be and how to encourage her in her gifts. It wasn’t long before she demonstrated extraordinary gifts with words and language.
Little Grace seemed to have an understanding of things that was well beyond her age. Even as a toddler, she would look deeply into your eyes and you could tell she was already thinking about the world in a different way.
Rosemary and Grace’s teachers began providing poems, scriptures, and advanced reading opportunities for her. Grace began memorizing poems and engaging opportunities to share them in front of her class…
…then in front of her school…
…then in a poetry recital for a number of schools in the surrounding county…
…and then she got to travel by plane with other students and teachers to a poetry recital competition for the whole Province!
She brought her sweet light and gifts to hundreds of people and we couldn’t be more proud of her.
YOUR support helped to make this dream come true and we can’t wait to see where she goes next and we can’t thank you enough for what you do!
With Love,
Bob, Nancy, Rosemary, the Children, and the Staff
